The Island Explorer Programme is an experiential learning opportunity for students to explore island ecosystems such as mangroves, coral reefs, rainforests etc.  The programme offers exciting activities such as SCUBA diving, mangrove kayaking, forest hiking, community cooking, birding etc, as a means to explore these new surroundings. A packed 6-day nature-based programme, IEP is ideal for students who would like to spend their holidays experiencing the island life while learning how its landscape, ecology and social setting comes together to make it one of India's most fragile yet rich biodiversity hotspot.

PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Exploration of natural ecosystems – mangroves, rainforests, marine and inter-tidal systems

  • Traditional craft-making using natural materials

  • Mangrove kayaking

  • SCUBA Diving

  • Visits to historical sites, monuments and museums

  • Opportunities for personal expression of learnings through art and other medium

PROGRAMME INCLUSIONS:
​
  • Shared dormitory accommodation in wooden non-ac dormitory cottages at ANET field station (separate for male and female participants)

  • All meals from lunch on April 14th to breakfast on April 19th

  • SCUBA Diving (for non-certified divers)

  • Mangrove Kayaking

  • Ground transfers from the time of arrival until departure at Port Blair airport including inter-island ferry transportation

  • All activity costs, entry and parking fees
