Dakshin Endeavours (DE) is a not-for-profit organisation that offers nature-based experiential programmes for children and youth with the aim to instill a sense of wonder towards the natural world and foster a sense of appreciation towards sustainable practices of traditional communities. These outdoor student programmes are designed to offer sensory experiences that complement classroom learning to promote socio-emotional learning and critical thinking through observations and interactions with nature. DE’s programmes range from field trips, summer schools, and specialised camps in unique environments like the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the Southern Western Ghats

We are seeking dynamic individuals who bring either educator or coordinator experience to help design, implement, and manage our outdoor learning programmes for school students.
What is the
role?
We are looking for an Educator to
-
facilitate outdoor experiential programmes
-
be available for at least 2–3 programme briefings and All Hands Meetings prior to the programme to ensure alignment and preparedness, as well as in the post programme debrief to evaluate and reflect
-
work closely with the internal Education Team to co-create meaningful, age-appropriate activities that support learning outcomes
-
coordinate to ensure the intention and arrangement of required art supplies, learning aids, and other activity materials
-
prepare and lead structured reflection sessions post-activities to help children process their experiences and insights
-
contribute to the final programme report by documenting key learnings, observations, and feedback
-
liaise with the Programme Coordinator to enable seamless day-to-day facilitation and flow of activities
Do I
qualify?
The ideal candidate should:
-
have minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in either child-centric facilitation in outdoor/nature-based settings
-
be passionate about Environmental Education, Nature & Outdoor Education to create impactful, hands-on learning experiences in nature
-
enjoy designing and executing age-appropriate outdoor and indoor activities that nurture a sense of wonder about the environment and communities
-
be comfortable spending long periods of time outdoors
-
be sensitised to working in natural spaces and among local communities
-
​be comfortable in water, preferably a swimmer and/or certified diver
-
be mindful in their approach to working with children and foster a safe learning environment
-
be self-motivated and proactive in creating avenues for advancement in their role in the organisation

What is the
role?
We are looking for an Programme Coordinator to
-
oversee all aspects of programme planning and on-ground execution.
-
manage on-ground coordination for flights, accommodation, meals, ground transportation, activities and any other logistical support required for the programme
-
liaise with the Education team to ensure smooth flow of activities
-
manage purchases such as refreshments, drinking water and any other requirements during the programme
-
have the ability to lead/ assist during medical emergencies in the course of the programme
-
contribute towards improving operational efficiency in programme planning and management
Do I
qualify?
The ideal candidate should:
-
have gained an experience of minimum 4-5 years in an operational role with high level of coordination among different verticals and/or stakeholders, in outdoor or travel sector
-
be comfortable spending long periods of time outdoors
-
be resourceful in times of crisis to manage a situation appropriately
-
be sensitised to working in natural spaces and among local communities
-
​be comfortable in water, preferably a swimmer and/or certified diver
-
be mindful in their approach to working with children and foster a safe learning environment
