FARM-TO-FORK PROGRAMME

An island exploration programme in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands

The Farm to Fork programme is a week-long excursion for students from different social and cultural backgrounds to explore the rich biodiversity of the islands while also experiencing the culture and story of the Karen community that has made the islands their home for over 90 years. Sustenance practices of the Karens such as making a full meal using mostly locally farmed and sourced ingredients will allow students the opportunity to better understand the concept of Farm-to-Fork.

This programme aims to allow students explore the abundant island ecology and the traditional way of life it offers. It aims to illustrate the Farm to Fork concept, an experiential idea that brings together environmental awareness, local food rules and nutrition, and the ethics of living off the land in a simple, sustainable manner.
